Karen Macrae

Karen qualified in 1994 from the Highlands and Islands school of nursing and midwifery. Gaining experience in A+E at Raigmore hospital and then in the Thoracic unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Working on the ward and then as a nurse specialist within the cardiothoracic unit.
Karen has worked as a CNS for 12years and for the last 7years as the lead CNS at the RIE. Qualified as a non medical prescriber in 2019. Working closely with the respiratory and oncology teams, from pre diagnosis through the diagnostic pathway and onto treatment or symptom management.
Prescribing TKI's and supporting patients through nurse led clinics. Currently vice chair of the Scottish lung cancer nurse forum.

The conference has been instigated and organised by LCNUK. Sponsors have contributed funding towards this event in return for exhibition space. They have had no input into the agenda or the selection of speakers with the exception of any sponsored symposia which are clearly indicated.
