Mel Erwin

Royal Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

Mel Erwin was diagnosed with EGFR+ non small cell adenocarcinoma in 2020 and is being looked after by the team at University College London Hospital. She is a patient advocate for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and two other lung cancer charities. Mel has given talks in England and Rome about her experience of living with lung cancer. She writes about her life as, what she calls, a 'lung cancernaut' and promotes awareness via social media that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. She and her partner Sarah are planning to compete in Sir Chris Hoy's 'Tour de 4' cycle on her 58th birthday.

The conference has been instigated and organised by LCNUK. Sponsors have contributed funding towards this event in return for exhibition space. They have had no input into the agenda or the selection of speakers with the exception of any sponsored symposia which are clearly indicated.
