Asbestos Action

Charity Sponsor
Asbestos Action is a Scottish charity that has been set up to assist sufferers of asbestos related diseases. We are a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation set up to provide practical support and advice to those who have an asbestos related disease. We want to ensure there is a local service, wherever you are in Scotland, to respond to any queries that a person diagnosed with an asbestos condition may have.

The charity was formed in 2002 by a small group of people who either have an asbestos related illness or have cared for someone with an asbestos linked condition.

In its first year, the charity dealt with around 40 referrals. Now we are contacted by well over 200 people each year who have been diagnosed with a debilitating or terminal asbestos condition covering from Buckie to the Borders and beyond.

With a small staff of four the charity punches well above its weight in providing emotional and practical support to victims of asbestos.

We understand that it is difficult to absorb all the medical information you are given and we are here to offer emotional support and advice.
The conference has been instigated and organised by LCNUK. Sponsors have contributed funding towards this event in return for exhibition space. They have had no input into the agenda or the selection of speakers with the exception of any sponsored symposia which are clearly indicated.
