Annabel Grinbergs

I graduated from University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) in 2007 and initially started my career on a General Oncology Ward. It was here I gained experience in Oncology Nursing extending to Oncological Emergencies and treatments and I completed a Post Graduate course in Chemotherapy / SACT Administration at BCU. In 2011 I moved side stepped to become a Clinical Research Nurse delivering Early Phase Clinical Trials at a NIHR/Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility. After returning from maternity leave in 2016 I was appointed as a Senior Clinical Educator where I was involved in Regional Training for Research Staff as part of the Network and sat on a National Committee for Research Training and Education. I was also fortunate enough work as a Senior Research Sister and manage the department clinically, at this time caring for Cancer Patients on Trials, and managing nursing teams.

Despite enjoying these roles my passion has always lied in Cancer Care and specifically, Lung Cancer. In 2022 I was successful in my application to become a Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist where I now am one of the Team Leads for QEHB Lung Cancer Nurses.

I am so proud to be elected onto the committee work collaboratively with Nurses all across the UK to enhance patient care, experience and to champion this incredibly privileged role that we have as Lung Cancer Nurses.
